Terms of Service for FolderCharm
Effective date: September 15, 2026
These Terms govern use of FolderCharm, provided by FolderCharm ("Seller"). By using the extension or purchasing Annual, the user agrees to these Terms.
Service
FolderCharm provides a browser interface for searching bookmark folders and links, detecting existing bookmarks, creating folders, and saving the current page. The browser and its bookmark synchronization service remain separate products controlled by their respective providers.
Trial
Each eligible verified email account receives one 14-day full-feature trial.
Email-code verification is required; no password or payment method is required.
Reinstalling or switching browsers does not restart the trial. Seller may limit
repeated or abusive trial creation.
Annual
Current offer availability and versioned purchase terms are displayed before
Checkout. The launch offer below describes the eligible $24 annual cohort;
subsequent offers do not replace an existing subscriber's accepted terms.
Subscribers can view their original terms and applicable billing details in
Your plan, including after updating the extension.
Introductory Launch Pricing for eligible new Annual subscriptions is USD $24 per
year, charged as one payment each year until canceled. USD $2 per month is an
equivalent comparison only, not a monthly billing option. This is not a five-year
upfront purchase.
The user authorizes Stripe and Seller to charge the selected payment method for each renewal. Taxes may be added where required.
Five-year launch-price guarantee
The USD $24 annual base subscription price is protected for five years from the
start of the first paid Annual subscription, provided that subscription remains
active on the same plan. The guarantee covers the initial annual payment and the
next four annual renewals. It does not restart on reinstall, sign-in, or renewal.
Applicable taxes and third-party currency-conversion charges are not price-locked.
After the guarantee ends, renewals move to the then-current standard annual rate.
Seller will notify the subscriber of the rate and renewal date by email at least
30 days before applying that rate to a renewal. The notified rate is the rate for
that renewal; a later standard-rate change does not silently replace the notice.
If timely notice cannot be provided, the existing rate is retained until a
subsequent eligible renewal with the required notice. There is no mid-term
price-increase charge.
Cancel before the notified renewal date to avoid the renewal. A subscription that
has ended and is later repurchased is a new purchase under the offer then
available; the old guarantee is not restored. Email registration or the free
trial alone does not reserve a launch price.
Existing subscribers keep their previously agreed base subscription rates and
terms. This new offer does not automatically migrate them to USD $24 or impose a
new five-year limit on their earlier agreement.
Renewal and cancellation
The subscription automatically renews annually unless canceled before the renewal date. Cancellation stops future renewal charges and does not normally terminate access before the end of the paid term.
Cancellation is available through Your plan → Cancel renewal, followed by
confirmation in Stripe Customer Portal. Billing & invoices also opens the
portal for billing management. Users may instead contact
The cancellation flow warns that the signup promotion ends when the subscription
actually ends. Scheduling cancellation does not remove the remaining paid term.
Resuming renewal before the subscription ends preserves that subscription and its
remaining promotional benefits; it does not restart a five-year guarantee.
Purchasing again after the subscription has ended uses the pricing and terms then
available, without automatically restoring the previous promotion.
Cancellation applies to future renewals only and does not automatically refund the
current annual charge. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy and
applicable law. Transaction-processing, currency-conversion, bank, and card-network
fees that the applicable transaction processor does not return cannot be refunded
and will be excluded from the refund amount. This restriction is imposed by the
transaction processors. FolderCharm does not receive or retain any portion of those
fees.
License
Seller grants the subscriber a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Annual for personal or internal business use during an active trial, paid term, or authorized grace period.
Annual may be used by the subscriber on up to five active FolderCharm
installations. Each browser profile or separately installed supported browser may
count as a separate installation. Users can review authorized installations and
remove an old installation after completing fresh email verification. Removing an
installation does not cancel the subscription, delete the account, or remove local
bookmarks.
If an installation-limit problem cannot be resolved through authenticated
self-service, Seller may provide a non-renewing, installation-specific support
access grant for up to 10 days while ownership is verified and the issue is
resolved. Support access does not extend the original trial, paid subscription
period, renewal date, or promotional pricing.
License sharing, resale, public posting, automated key generation, payment
avoidance, and unauthorized redistribution are prohibited.
Acceptable use
Users may not:
- Reverse engineer the licensing service to bypass payment or access controls.
- Interfere with the extension, checkout, licensing API, or other users.
- Use the service unlawfully or to violate third-party rights.
- Submit fraudulent payment or refund requests.
These restrictions do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
User responsibility
Users are responsible for their bookmark data, browser account, synchronization settings, backups, device access, and license key. Seller is not responsible for bookmark loss caused by browser synchronization, account changes, device failure, third-party software, or user actions.
Availability and changes
Seller may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Material changes affecting paid functionality will be communicated when reasonably possible. Seller does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy at https://foldercharm.pages.dev/refund-policy.html and applicable law.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the extension and service are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seller's total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount paid by the user during the 12 months before the claim. Seller will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages where such exclusions are legally permitted.
Termination
Seller may suspend access for material breach, fraud, chargeback abuse, security risk, or unlawful use. Users may stop using the extension at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections remain applicable.
